The Castlewood subdivision
is comprised of 174 homes and one empty lot. The properties are divided
into unit numbers (1, 1A, 1B, 2, 3A and 3B) that appear on tax bills
and other legal documents. Below is a chart of which homes
are included in Castlewood, along with a list of which homes
are not part of our subdivision.

Castlewood's Points of Entry & Exit
Castlewood's Front Entrance
on Route 30
To US Route 30 (Joliet Street,
Lincoln Highway):
Take
Castlewood Drive north and turn left (west) or right
(east) on Route 30.
To Calumet Avenue:
Take
Castlewood Drive south, turn right on Knighthood, then
turn left (south) or right (north) on Calumet.
To St. John Road & Patterson:
Take Castlewood
Drive south, turn left on Knighthood, left
on Howard Castle Drive, turn right on Clover, left on Coral,
turn right on Tanglewood, then left (north) or right (south)
on St. John Road.
Or...
Take Castlewood
Drive south, turn left on Knighthood, turn right on
Howard Castle Drive, left on 77th, then left (north) or
right (south) on St. John Road/Patterson.
To 77th Avenue:
Take Castlewood
Drive south, turn left on Knighthood, turn right on
Howard Castle Drive, then turn left (east) or right (west)
on 77th Avenue.
Or...
Take Castlewood Drive south, turn right on Knighthood,
left on Calumet, then left (east) or right (west) on 77th
Avenue.
If going to 81st &
Sheffield or to Illinois 394, you can avoid the
dangerous intersection of 77th & Sheffield by turning left
on Columbia (route marked in yellow on map below), left on
Catalpa, and right (west) on 81st. (An alternate route of
Linden to 80th Avenue forms a circle to the west.) If going to IL-394,
continue west on 81st, which turns into Steger Road, another
three miles to the stoplight entrance of 394.
If going to Schererville,
Merrillville, Hobart, Valparaiso, or other points east,
you can avoid some of the traffic on US 30 by taking 77th east past US 41 another two miles, turning
left on Austin or at the traffic circle on Cline, then immediately right onto Route 30.
